Wow Cakes
I'm Lorraine. I bake cakes from my artisan kitchen — novelty cakes, celebration cakes, the odd wedding tier or two. Tell me what you're celebrating and I'll bake something for it.
Cakes from my artisan kitchen
Wow Cakes is just me, baking from home in Limerick. It started with cakes for family and friends. Word got around, and it grew from there, one cake at a time.
Novelty and celebration cakes are my thing. A Paw Patrol cake for a fourth birthday. A two-tier christening cake in pink. A photo cake that makes the granny tear up. If it's worth celebrating, I'll bake for it.
Every cake gets proper ingredients and plenty of time. No shortcuts. Tell me what you're celebrating and we'll work out the cake together — your colours, your theme, your favourite flavour.
What I bake, in brief
The bits people ask about most. The full lists are on the Our Cakes page.

Best of bothSomething Else in Mind?
A family recipe? A cake you saw online? Ask me. If I can bake it, I will.
Just askAnyone with allergies? Tell me when you enquire. I'll talk through the ingredients honestly so everyone knows where they stand.
What I bake for
Birthdays, christenings, weddings, the lot. If yours isn't here, even better. Something new.
Sizes & Servings
Based on round cakes cut into party slices of about 2 × 2 inches. When in doubt, go a size up.
Single Tier 1 cake
Two Tiers most popular
Three Tiers weddings
Round or square? Both are available in 8″, 10″ and 12″. Square cakes serve roughly a quarter more than round at the same size, and the same applies to square tier combinations.
Wedding portions are usually cut smaller (about 1 × 2″), so a wedding cake serves roughly double the party servings above.
Not sure? Tell me your guest count and I will recommend the right size.
Keeping a tier? Fruit-style and biscuit tiers keep beautifully — ask about saving the top tier.

What information I collect
I only collect what I need to help with your enquiry or order:
- Enquiry form details — your name, email address and/or phone number, and the details you share about your cake (occasion, date, number of guests, flavours and your message).
- Phone, email and Instagram messages — if you contact me by phone, email or through Instagram direct messages, I will have your name, contact details and the content of our conversation.
- Order details — if you place an order, I keep a note of your cake design, collection or delivery arrangements, and payment details such as whether a deposit has been paid.

I use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and chat through your cake ideas
- Provide a quote, confirm your booking and make your cake
- Arrange collection or local delivery
- Keep basic records for my accounts and tax obligations
Under GDPR, the legal bases I rely on are:

- Contract — where I need your details to fulfil a cake order you have placed.
- Legal obligation — where I must keep records, for example for tax purposes.
How long I keep your information
I keep enquiry messages only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Order records are kept for as long as reasonably needed for my business records and to meet legal and tax requirements — normally up to six years for financial records. After that, information is deleted or anonymised. You can ask me to delete your details sooner — see Your Rights below.

I do not sell your personal data, ever. I do not share it for marketing purposes.

Terms & Conditions
The simple, fair terms that apply when you order a cake from Wow Cakes.
Last updated: October 2026
Wow Cakes is a home bakery in Limerick, run by Lorraine. These terms explain how ordering works. They are written to be clear and fair for both of us. By placing an order with Wow Cakes, you agree to these terms.
1. Ordering your cake
You can enquire by phone, email or Instagram message. We will chat through your date, occasion, size, flavours, colours and design ideas.
Your booking is only confirmed once I have confirmed the details with you directly — including the design, date and price — and any required deposit has been paid (see below). Please book as early as you can, especially for wedding and communion season, as dates do fill up.
It is your responsibility to check that all the details are correct when I confirm them — names and wording for the cake, dates, flavours and colours.
2. Pricing
Every cake is made to order, so prices are quoted individually based on size, flavours, design and decoration. The price I confirm at booking is the price for the cake as described. If you change the design, size or details after confirmation, the price may change — I will always discuss any change with you first.
3. Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure your booking and date. I will let you know the amount when I confirm your order. Your date is not held until the deposit is received. Deposits go towards the time reserved for your cake and ingredients ordered for it.
4. Final payment
The balance is due on or before collection or delivery of your cake, unless we have agreed something different in writing (for example, for wedding cakes). I will confirm the payment timing and accepted payment methods when you book.
5. Cancellations & refunds
I understand that plans can change. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change your date.
- If you cancel with plenty of notice, I will do my best to be fair about any deposit, taking into account whether ingredients have been bought or work has started.
- Deposits may be non-refundable where a date has been held for you, ingredients have been ordered, or work has begun — I will explain this clearly at booking.
- If I ever have to cancel your order (for example, due to illness or an emergency), I will let you know as soon as possible and refund any payments you have made for that order in full.
- Changes to the date are subject to availability.
6. Collection & delivery
Cakes are normally collected from Limerick at an agreed time. Local delivery may be available by arrangement — please ask when you book, as a delivery charge may apply.
Once a cake has been collected or delivered and accepted, responsibility for it passes to you. Please transport your cake on a flat surface (the boot or footwell, not a seat), keep it cool and out of direct sunlight, and drive carefully over bumps.
7. Cake care & storage
I will give you care advice when you collect your cake — please follow it so your cake is at its best. In general, keep your cake in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Cakes with fresh cream or certain fillings may need to be refrigerated — I will tell you if yours does. Wow Cakes cannot be responsible for a cake that is damaged or spoiled after collection due to storage, transport or handling.
8. Allergies & ingredients — please read
All Wow Cakes are made in a home kitchen where ingredients such as gluten (wheat), eggs, milk, nuts, peanuts, soya and other allergens are used. This means I cannot guarantee that any cake is completely free from traces of allergens.
Please tell me about any allergies or dietary requirements when you enquire, and I will talk through ingredients honestly with you. If an allergy is severe, you should consider whether a home-baked cake is suitable. It is also your responsibility to let your guests know about allergen information.
9. Design variations
Every Wow Cake is handmade, so no two are ever exactly alike. If you send me a photo for inspiration, I will use it as a guide, but your cake may vary slightly in colour, decoration and finish — that handmade character is part of what makes it yours. Colours can also look slightly different in photos and in different light.
Fresh flowers, toppers, photos and non-edible decorations supplied by you should be provided in good time and in good condition — I will confirm what I need when we finalise the design.
10. Problems with your cake
If there is anything wrong with your cake, please contact me as soon as possible on the day, with a photo if you can, so I have a fair chance to help. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
11. Agreement
By placing an order and paying a deposit or confirming your booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
